The Office of the Chancellor is seeking a Co-op Coordinator to work with students and employer partners, with an initial focus on College of Engineering undergraduate programs. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month faculty position based at the Boston campus and will observe a hybrid work schedule. You will join an inclusive team of 25+ faculty and staff working collaboratively to deliver an outstanding cooperative education program to engineering students.**Responsibilities:*****Employer Relations and Job Development:***The Co-op Coordinator develops new partnerships and expands current employer programs by engaging with managers, human resources contacts, and alumni throughout the US and globally. They engage in lifelong learning to develop and maintain a current understanding of the industry/field, employers, and positions, Activities to support this endeavor include site visits to new and existing employers, outreach to potential new co-op employer partners, and active participation in relevant professional organizations. High-level customer-orientation, strong presentation skills, and experience in building and maintaining partnerships is essential.***Education of Students:***The Co-op Coordinator guides students through their career development and co-op experiences. They educate, advise and coach students, developing and delivering effective teaching and advising programs that enable students to be successful in today’s global environment. This includes, but is not limited to, working with students one-on-one, in workshops and in the classroom. The Co-op Coordinator teaches career education courses each semester; classroom preparation includes job search strategy, interviewing skills, resume writing, professional behavior and communication, workplace ethics, and other relevant learning objectives. The Co-op Coordinator also maintains contact with students while engaged in their co-op experience and works with students through their post-co-op reflection.***Integrated Learning:***Cooperative education is an integral part of the academic experience at Northeastern and our philosophy is that learning in the classroom is enriched by practical experience, and practical experience enriches classroom dialogue. The Co-op Coordinator collaborates with college academic faculty, leadership, and the co-op community to guide students in the integration of their co-op and academic experiences. The Co-op faculty member shares knowledge of industry with academic faculty to integrate employment-based learning with curriculum-based learning.The Co-op Coordinator also engages in service to cooperative education within the Office of the Chancellor, the College of Engineering, and to Northeastern University. Service includes but is not limited to: delivering presentations to prospective students and newly admitted students, participating in committees and task forces, advising/supporting a student club, and/or contributing to a professional society.**Qualifications:*** A master’s degree in college student development, counseling, education, or a related engineering/science or business-related field is required by the appointment start date, as well as a minimum of three years of professional work experience.* Teaching experience in a classroom environment or comparable experience with presentation skills in a business or workshop environment* Proficiency in computer/technology and database maintenance, with excellent time management and organizational skills.* Knowledge and appreciation of cooperative education and/or experiential learning and its impact on an individual’s career development.* Ability to effectively engage a diverse network of global stakeholders, across time zones.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Professional experience in the engineering profession or in career development and counseling of engineering students is a plus* Experience working with an international student population.* Applicants should submit a resume and detailed cover letter highlighting relevant professional experiences and their desire to work with students to strengthen their professional career journeys.**Position Type**Academic**Additional Information**Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.Northeastern has a comprehensive benefits package for benefit eligible employees.
