The Role
As an Assistant Artist/Food Handler at Muse Paintbar, you will support both artistic instruction and culinary service. Your responsibilities include assisting in preparing painting sessions, engaging with guests during events, and contributing to food and beverage service. This role is ideal for someone developing their art instruction skills while having a strong foundation in food service operations, with flexibility to fulfill either role based on daily operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Session Preparation: Use provided planning templates and note steps for painting breakdowns from lead artists during team huddles.
2. Engaging Painting Support: Assist with painting sessions, guide customers, and manage session timing efficiently.
3. Session Organization: Prepare for upcoming sessions by printing attendee lists, organizing paint palettes, and arranging seating.
4. Welcoming Host: Greet customers, guide them to seats, and provide aprons.
5. Food and Beverage Ambassador: Direct guests to QR menu, attend to food and drinks at the bar and tableside, ensuring a seamless experience.
6. Food Preparation and Presentation: When working as Food Handler, prepare high-quality food emphasizing presentation and safety.
7. Kitchen Operations and Safety: Maintain cleanliness and safety standards, monitor equipment, and ensure safety protocols.
8. Customer Interaction: Support guests during sessions, offer encouragement, and take additional food/beverage orders.
9. Photo and Social Media Engagement: Capture photos during sessions for social media to enhance guest experience and promote events.
10. Session Cleanup and Maintenance: Assist with post-session cleanup and studio preparation for future events.
11. Team Collaboration: Work flexibly with team members, sharing responsibilities to enhance customer experience.

Shift Requirements

• Part-time availability, averaging 15-25 hours/week.
• Ability to work varied hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Artistic skills, especially in acrylics, with willingness to learn art instruction.
• Experience in food presentation and safety, with ability to execute menu items.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Tech-savviness with kitchen appliances and session technology.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel if needed.

Experience and Education

• Must be 21 or older.
• Interest or background in arts preferred.
• Experience in customer-focused environments such as bars or restaurants.
• Certifications like TIPS and ServSafe provided by Muse if needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Agility to move quickly and safely in studio spaces.
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment with music and large groups.
