Job summary

YMCA is seeking an Assistant Aquatic Director to promote aquatic programs while maintaining health and safety standards. The role involves supervising lifeguards and instructors and managing facilities both indoors and outdoor seasonal sites. A minimum of 50% hands-on instruction and public-facing program development is required.

You will lead staff training, ensure safety compliance, and help drive community engagement, all while modeling the YMCA mission and values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience with scheduling multiple pools/locations.
• Current certifications: First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguarding, O2, AED.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed.
• Assist in developing and supervising quality aquatic programs for all ages.
• Oversee pool cleaning and outdoor facilities, including opening/closing operations.
• Coordinate trainings and maintain training records for staff and volunteers.
• Provide leadership, coaching and performance feedback to staff and instructors.
