Job summary

The City of Frederick seeks an Assistant Airport Manager to support daily operations and maintenance at Frederick Municipal Airport (FDK). You will coordinate with FAA, MAA and city officials to ensure safe, efficient airfield operations.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, scheduling, budgeting, and public relations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting strong community outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business management, aviation management, public administration or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in airport management or equivalent.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations and COMAR preferred.
• Two (2) years of direct experience working or operating in an active airfield environment in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist and occasionally lead daily management of airport facilities for safe, efficient operations.
• Directs development of operation and maintenance work plans and supervises staff.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and schedules per industry standards.
• Oversee inspections for maintenance, safety and cleanliness; coordinate repairs and projects.
