This recruitment is being conducted to fill one (1) regular, full-time vacancy for the Assistant Airport Manager for the Napa County Airport, a division of the Public Works Department.

About the Position

• Pay Range: $62.70/hour (Step 1) - $76.01/hour (Step 5)
• Annual Salary: $130,416/annual (Step 1) - $158,100.80/annual (Step 5)

The Napa County Airport (APC) is an active general aviation airport in the southern area of Napa County. Situated in this world-class wine-growing region and home to renowned wineries, top-ranked restaurants, luxurious spas, and pristine golf links, the Napa Valley is a growing destination for tourism and the sublime wine-loving lifestyle. The Assistant Airport Manager assists in the management and administration of the Napa County Airport, which includes multiple work groups with significant depth and complexity. The position participates in developing the Airport's objectives and leads the design and implementation of programs, processes, policies, and procedures to achieve those objectives. The Assistant Airport Manager may also share responsibility for developing, administering, and monitoring associated budgets and serves as acting Airport Manager in the Airport Manager's absence.

Position Requirements

Education & Experience

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

• Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in airport operations management, airport property management, administrative management or business management including three (3) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
• Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in airport management, business administration, public administration, or a related field.

License or Certificate

• Possession of a valid California driver's license.

  Certification from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) as either an Accredited Airport Executive, Certified Member, or Airport Operations and General Aviation and Airport Lighting Maintenance is highly desirable.
