Job summary

Qualifications

What You'll Do

• Assist in implementing age-appropriate daily activities, crafts, and lessons tailored for toddlers.
• Supervise children closely during classroom learning, outdoor play, and meal times to ensure safety.
• Support children with potty training, diaper changes, and developing personal hygiene habits.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment in compliance with health standards.
• Observe and document children's progress, communicating positive milestones and updates to parents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience working with toddlers or young children in a licensed childcare facility or preschool setting.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, sit on the floor, and remain active throughout the workday.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or a willingness to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting required by Virginia state licensing.

Nice To Haves

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
• Familiarity with Virginia childcare licensing regulations and standards.
• Experience working specifically with the two-year-old milestone curriculum.
