U.S. Agency For Global Media in Miami is seeking an Assignment Editor (Spanish) to oversee and coordinate news and feature material for radio, TV and web, ensuring timely editing and distribution to programmers across OCB and USAGM.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Cuba—its people, culture, history, politics, and economics—and fluency in English and Spanish to facilitate bilingual reporting and translation for a diverse audience.
This position serves as an Assignment Editor (Spanish) in U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB), Central News Division. The incumbent assigns and coordinates news and feature material and content elements for radio, TV and the web. The incumbent is an integral part of the OCB Central News Division, which, in turn, is the pivotal hub to take in program content and ensure it is properly edited, produced and distributed to programmers throughout OCB and the USAGM. Applicant must be eligible for an Excepted Service appointment under Schedule B, 213.3228. This appointment authority requires that the selectee have extensive knowledge of Cuba, including its people, culture, history, politics, economics, and current events. This extensive knowledge MUST be clearly articulated in your resume to receive consideration.

Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-12 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
