Job summary

Citi in Jersey City, New Jersey is seeking an Asset Servicing Associate Analyst to join as an integrated professional in the Operations - Transaction Services family. You will contribute to reconciliation, processing elections and payments for Corporate Action events and support client inquiries with accurate data interpretation.

The role requires 2-5 years of finance experience, teamwork, and strong analytical skills. A Bachelor’s degree is expected, with proficiency in Excel/Office tools.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant experience in finance or asset servicing.
• Operational knowledge within Finance industry.
• Experience in other financial products outside of asset service advantageous.
• Proven experience working within a team environment is a must.
• Analytical and numerate; ability to research and resolve complex issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good lateral thinking and common sense.

Responsibilities

• This will be an individual contributor role reconciling, processing elections and payments related to Corporate Action events
• Interpret domestic Voluntary Corporate Action and event information, and use that data to address client inquiries and ad-hoc requests
• Partner with internal teams across the business, including Middle office, to effectively service Custody clients
• Performs multiple transactions of moderate complexity to achieve operating efficiency and a high level of productivity
• Minimizes risk to the bank through the appropriate application of procedural requirements and adherence to audit and control policies
• Continuously looks for and designs business required documents to reduce the number of manual touch points to process payments
• Participates in system testing
• Maintains awareness of product changes and system enhancements
• Assists team member during periods of high volume corporate action processing and payments, provides back-up coverage, and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

The Asset Serv Intmd Assoc Analyst is a developing professional role which integrates in-depth specialty knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices; demonstrates good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses’ core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.
