Job summary

Hannaford is seeking an Asset Protection Coordinator to prevent theft and reduce shrink in its Portland, ME stores. You will support the Asset Protection Department, deter shoplifting, and work with law enforcement as needed.

You will develop knowledge of the justice system, complete detailed reports, and maintain confidentiality. The role requires travel within the region, independent work, and ability to meet physical requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability and willingness to learn the technical requirements of the job.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and make quick, sound decisions.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Asset Protection Department in shrink reduction activity, including theft, reporting and audits.
• Develop knowledge of the criminal justice system and related laws.
• Maintain relationships with local police and court systems.
• Complete and maintain accurate reports and files.
• Maintain store averages for shoplifting deterrence and apprehensions.
• Detect, apprehend and deter shoplifters following company guidelines and laws.
• Make court appearances when necessary and provide documentation for status.
• Proficient in CCTV and asset protection technologies.
• Maintain confidentiality of investigations and assist training of coordinators.
• Perform other duties as assigned and meet physical requirements.
