Job summary

Nordstrom is hiring an asset protection security ambassador in Anchorage to help prevent inventory loss while engaging customers in a professional manner. You will maintain a visible store presence in a Nordstrom uniform, perform monitoring, and assist in emergencies.

The role requires a valid security license in applicable locations, strong deterrence presence, calm handling of safety situations, accountability, and the ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• A valid security license is required for this role in select locations.
• Maintain an active, visible floor presence as a deterrent in designated areas.
• Stay calm when dealing with safety issues and suspect behavior.
• Demonstrate accountability, initiative and ownership.
• Meet any local licensing requirements.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers in a timely, professional and personable manner.
• Maintain visible presence by wearing Nordstrom-provided security officer style uniform.
• Perform monitoring and surveillance activities.
• Assess and assist in emergency situations.
• Reduce and control loss of inventory through audits, training and education.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
