Job Summary
To increase the profitability of our retail efforts through successful administration of the Loss Prevention program for Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay (GSFB) and its affiliated entities.
Responsibilities
- Protect company assets by executing all external theft program elements, including deterrence and apprehensions.
- Build and record external theft cases using case management software.
- Conduct external theft investigations utilizing exception-based reports, tips, and CCTV review.
- Review all elements related to Asset Protection’s case management records for accuracy.
- Conduct surveillance physically and via CCTV on all company property.
- Participate in investigations and closing of internal cases as needed.
- Collaborate with Store Leadership, Asset Protection, law enforcement, and safety agencies to minimize loss.
- Interact with customers and suspects, evaluating behaviors and determining appropriate actions, always considering safety.
- Review cases individually to decide on prosecution.
- Identify and recommend process improvements.
- Enforce company policies to prevent loss.
- Handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
- Create and utilize reports related to theft, fraud, and analytics.
- Follow safety rules and use safety equipment.
- Use software to identify high-risk locations and travel as needed.
- Review programs, policies, and procedures for effectiveness.
- Conduct Asset Protection and Risk audits, providing training where necessary.
- Review external cases, walk sites, and ensure program adherence, providing guidance to staff.
- Consult with legal department during legal proceedings.
- Communicate effectively to facilitate prosecution and restitution.
- Exercise sound judgment in policy and program execution.
- Complete required Asset Protection training timely.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- At least 3 years’ experience in retail security or loss prevention preferred.
- Pass GSFB certification processes.
- Knowledge of retail/industrial security systems.
- Experience with digital cameras.
- Excellent communication, mathematical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in English reading and speaking.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
Physical Demands
Occasional standing, walking, climbing, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting. Frequent handling, reaching above shoulder. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Salary Range
$24.24 - $32.74 per hour.
