Job summary

Safeway in Somerville, MA is seeking an Asset Protection Specialist to protect people, products, and profits by reducing theft, fraud and loss. You will use observation skills, technology, and partnerships with store leadership to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for customers and associates.

You will monitor store activity, support investigations, identify risks, and take appropriate action in accordance with policy and laws.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Experience in retail, customer service, asset protection, loss prevention, security, investigations, or other related fields.

As an Asset Protection Specialist, no two days are ever the same! You'll help protect our people, products, and profits by identifying opportunities to reduce theft, fraud, and operational loss. Using observation skills, technology, and strong partnerships with store leadership, you'll help support a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our customers and associates.

You'll monitor store activity, support investigations, identify potential risks, and take appropriate action in accordance with company policy and applicable laws. What You Bring To The Table

• You are 18 years of age or older.
• You have experience in retail, customer service, leadership, asset protection, loss prevention, security, military, investigations, or other related fields.
• You have strong observation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Asset Protection or Loss Prevention.
• Experience identifying theft, fraud, safety, or compliance concerns.
• Experience working with CCTV, investigations, reporting tools, or retail operations.
