ASSET PROTECTION SPECIALIST (Finance)



Protect company assets through safety initiatives, inventory recovery, and theft reduction programs. Assist in reducing lost inventory, monitor surveillance equipment, and collaborate with the district asset protection (AP) manager to oversee AP initiatives. Identify, observe, and apprehend shoplifters and others involved in criminal activities impacting the company. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and professionalism
  • Ability to diffuse confrontational situations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • One year of retail asset protection experience
  • Experience with multi-store asset protection
  • Wicklander Certification
  • Operational knowledge of CCTV systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct plainclothes surveillance to detect internal and external loss
  • Investigate incidents and report findings; apprehend involved individuals
  • Comply with all laws and company policies
  • Perform security checks and recommend loss prevention strategies
  • Partner with law enforcement and prepare case reports
  • Identify and address conditions affecting shrinkage, safety, and profitability
  • Serve as liaison to identify and develop loss reduction solutions
  • Complete detailed reports on AP activities
  • Support AP initiatives and ensure their effectiveness at store level
  • Assist with investigations and testify in court or hearings
  • Ensure equipment functionality and compliance during store visits
  • Travel as needed and work flexible schedules, including weekends
  • Operate effectively in high-pressure environments and manage conflicts professionally
  • Maintain confidentiality and act with integrity
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
