Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking an asset protection security ambassador to prevent inventory loss through proactive engagement with customers and staff. The role emphasizes maintaining a visible security presence, professional conduct, and ongoing training to deter shrink and protect assets.

You will respond to customer needs, conduct monitoring and surveillance, and assist in emergencies while upholding confidentiality and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid security license where required by local regulations.
• Ability to maintain an active, visible floor presence as a deterrent.
• Calm demeanor when addressing safety issues and suspect behavior.
• Accountability, initiative and ownership in daily tasks.
• Meet any local licensing requirements and regulatory standards.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers in a timely, professional and personable manner and respond to customer’s needs.
• Maintain visible presence by wearing a Nordstrom provided security officer style uniform.
• Perform monitoring and surveillance activities.
• Assess and assist in emergency situations.
• Reduce and control loss of inventory through audits, training, and education.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
