Job summary

Goodwill Southern Los Angeles County is seeking an Asset Protection Specialist to prevent loss and protect assets across facilities. Under supervision of the Asset Protection Lead & Compliance, Risk & Safety Manager and VP of Corporate Compliance, you will implement policies and monitor safety programs and CCTV systems.

You will identify security concerns, report incidents, train staff, respond to emergencies 24/7, and drive on company business as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience in loss prevention, law enforcement or investigative services.
• 1 year security experience preferred.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Ability to work with all levels and management.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of computers and how they operate.
• Ability to solve problems as they arise.
• Ability to react appropriately in a stressful situation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safeguarding of company funds, property and merchandise, including donated goods.
• Identify physical security concerns and act on the spot when at store locations.
• Investigate and take appropriate action on internal or external incidents of or unauthorized possession of company property (shoplifting and employee dishonesty).
• Assist in the company’s Illness and Injury Prevention Program by monitoring safety programs and practices.
• Assist in the training of other employees in safety and asset protection.
• Maintain CCTV systems operational on a daily basis.
• Communicate clearly using company devices (phone, email, etc.).
• Respond to criminal activity outside business hours following guidelines and policies.
• Respond to emergency calls and alarm activations 24/7.
• Work with minimum supervision.
• Drive on company business as required.
• Schedule will be provided upon hire and may change.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
