Job summary

Nordstrom Inc. is seeking a Manager of Asset Protection to supervise AP teams across the store, including recruiting, development, performance oversight, and budgeting. This role executes the company shrinkage reduction strategy and protects employees, assets, and profitability.

The AP Manager partners with cross-functional store leaders to support the retail asset protection business and maintain safety, incident prevention, and compliance with company values.

Qualifications

• Valid security license required for specified locations (WA, CO, NY, MO, OR).
• Proven success in investigative asset protection and security procedures with prior AP leadership.
• Understanding of Exception Based Reporting tools and Case Management Software.
• Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with employees and leaders.
• Clear and professional communication with coworkers and customers.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills under high stress.
• Strong written communication and organizational, delegation and follow-through skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer proficiency with monitoring and surveillance technologies.
• High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
• Flexible schedule based on department and store needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and execute the organizational strategy set by the AP Division.
• Develop relationships within the store with Store Manager, Service Experience, Inventory Accuracy and HR.
• Own building security and safety, educate staff on emergency preparedness and assist in incidents.
• Monitor and communicate reports to ensure AP incidents are documented properly.
• Use data to identify trends and mitigate internal and external theft.
• Lead shrink program execution and detect theft/dishonesty issues.
• Hire and develop talent for investigations, auditing, shortage reduction, and AP awareness.
• Be data-driven to identify risks and maximize profitability.
