Position Summary:

The Asset Protection Coordinator is an hourly position reporting to the Market Asset Protection Manager. The role involves maintaining and monitoring asset protection, security, compliance, and safety functions within a facility. The team's mission is to reduce shrink, maintain accurate inventory, ensure compliance, and create a safe environment for employees and customers. This is achieved through report reviews, floor presence for education and observation, and monitoring compliance with safety, inventory, and shrink directives.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist in training Outfitters on shrink, safety, and security functions.
  • Communicate asset protection directives to store leadership and Outfitters.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, interacting with customers and Outfitters, especially in suspicious situations.
  • Analyze root causes of shrink via cycle counts, audits, and reports.
  • Review inventory adjustments and investigate discrepancies.
  • Promote commitment to asset protection programs among Outfitters and vendors.
  • Ensure merchandise protection tools are used correctly and monitor security standards.
  • Monitor property and parking areas for safety and security.
  • Conduct loss investigations and review reports.
  • Assist with investigations into criminal activity, policy violations, and workplace incidents.
  • Monitor criminal cases, testify in court as needed.
  • Gather information and conduct interviews when authorized.
  • Investigate firearms compliance and process concerns.
  • Maintain security systems and promote safety programs.
  • Prepare detailed reports promptly.
  • Obtain necessary certifications/licenses as required by law.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related preferred.
  • Relevant licenses or certifications as per jurisdiction.
  • Experience in security, asset protection, safety, or retail inventory preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience conducting investigations.
  • Knowledge of security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.).
  • Ability to conduct audits and reviews.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
Other Details:
  • Travel less than 10% if requested.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within policies.
