Job summary

Hilltop Residential is seeking an Asset Manager Analyst at our Houston Corporate Office to optimize the performance of our multifamily portfolio. You will conduct in-depth financial analysis, market research, and operational evaluations to support data-driven decision-making.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Asset Management, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, monitor performance, and present insights to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field.
  • 2+ years in multifamily real estate asset management or similar.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and analysis with strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of property management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Understanding of real estate market dynamics and trends.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed financial analysis of multifamily properties.
  • Evaluate property-level performance to identify revenue and cost opportunities.
  • Assess capital expenditure plans and impact on cash flows.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis of multifamily markets.
  • Provide insights on market conditions, rents, and demand drivers.
  • Collaborate with property management to monitor operational performance.
  • Develop strategies to optimize occupancy and rental rates.
  • Prepare and present regular property performance reports to senior management.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support asset-specific and portfolio-wide investment strategies.

Asset Manager Analyst - Houston Corporate Office

The Asset Manager Analyst is a key member of our Asset Management team and plays a critical role in optimizing the performance of our multifamily property portfolio. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Asset Management, the Analyst will conduct in-depth financial analysis, market research, and operational evaluations to support data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective execution of asset management strategies, ultimately driving property value and investor returns.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform detailed financial analysis of multifamily properties, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Evaluate property-level financial performance, identifying opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost savings.
  • Analyze capital expenditure plans and assess their impact on property cash flows and long-term value.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the multifamily markets.
  • Provide insights on market conditions, rental rates, and demand drivers to inform investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to monitor and enhance operational performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize property occupancy, rental rates, and overall resident satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on property performance to senior management.
  • Communicate key findings, recommendations, and insights to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Assist in the development and execution of asset-specific and portfolio-wide strategies to maximize returns and achieve investment objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPM, CCIM) is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in multifamily real estate asset management or a related field.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, with strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of property management software and tools.

This position reports directly to the Managing Director of Asset Management. This position will be fully in-person at our Corporate Office located at 9651 Katy Freeway Suite 550, Houston TX 77024.
