Job summary

JPI is seeking a Manager, Investment Ownership to lead asset management for a portfolio of multifamily projects, including market analysis, budgeting, and investor communications. The role requires coordinating with property management, revenue teams, and external partners to optimize returns.

You will apply AI tools to draft and summarize analyses, while maintaining strict data handling and confidentiality. A strong background in asset management and negotiations is essential for success at JPI.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in multifamily asset management including development and lease-up.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; graduate degree and/or certifications encouraged.
  • Experience working with capital partners, market analytics, asset management, and strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead primary asset management responsibilities for a designated portfolio of multifamily projects.
  • Oversee monthly operating statements, annual budgets, and business plans for new assets.
  • Manage investor communications, site tours, and quarterly updates.
  • Handle PM onboarding and pre-lease-up activities; support construction owner’s rep and vendor management.

About the Job.

The Manager, Investment Ownership is expected to engage in any or all of a broad range of responsibilities across the real estate project lifecycle. The position demands independent technical input and decision-making in relation to JPI projects.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Investment Ownership


  • Lead primary asset management responsibilities for a designated portfolio of multifamily new construction assts (market rate, workforce, tax credit, build-to-rent).

  • Oversee regularly scheduled meetings and calls with property management team members and with revenue management representatives.

  • Manage monthly operating statements, annual operating budgets, and business plans for new assets.

  • Strong understanding of multifamily valuations, waterfalls, cash management, property financials, and sell/hold analysis.

  • Manage investor communications, including site tours and quarterly updates.

  • Handle PM onboarding and pre-lease-up activities.

  • Construction owner’s rep support.

  • Third party vendor management.

  • Able to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.


AI and Automation


  • Uses approved enterprise AI tools (e.g., Claude Cowork, Microsoft Copilot) to draft, summarize, analyze, and accelerate everyday work.

  • Applies sound judgment to review AI-generated outputs for accuracy, tone, and appropriateness before using or sharing them.

  • Follows company data handling, confidentiality, and acceptable-use policies when working with AI tools and sensitive information.

  • Demonstrates curiosity and willingness to adopt new tools; actively participates in AI training, office hours, and adoption campaigns.

  • Uses AI assistants to reduce manual effort on routine tasks (email drafting, meeting notes, document summarization, basic research).

Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Urban Planning, Accounting, Real Estate, Engineering, Math or related field required. Graduate degree and/or relevant professional certifications encouraged.

  • Demonstrated experience in working with capital partners, market analytics, asset management, property operations, and strong negotiation skills.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in multifamily asset management including multifamily development and lease-up experience.
