A leading company in the asset management sector seeks an experienced professional to manage annual business plans, oversee financial metrics, and ensure compliance. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and experience in multifamily asset management. Join a diverse team dedicated to excellence and growth.
• Develop and implement annual Asset Management Business Plans per asset, including budgets, capital market strategies, and performance opportunities.
• Provide KPI dashboards and watchlist reports for senior leadership, analyzing financial and operational metrics (e.g., variances, occupancy, rents, turnovers).
• Approve annual operating and capital budgets.
• Monitor and review monthly operating statements and property cash flows.
• Conduct regular site visits and lead physical needs assessments and capital improvement planning in coordination with property management.
Market Reconnaissance & Analysis
• Perform market research and competitive analysis to inform repositioning, refinancing, and disposition strategies.
• Deliver high-level financial and strategic reports to senior management to guide asset and portfolio-level decisions.
Risk Management & Compliance
• Maintain lender, investor, and regulatory relationships, ensuring all compliance and reporting requirements are met.
• Review audits, tax filings, and respond to audit-related inquiries, including real estate tax appeals.
• Oversee LIHTC capital account maintenance and prepare exit tax projections.
• Oversee risk management procedures for assigned portfolio, monitoring incidents and potential claims.
Portfolio Evaluation & Reporting
• Analyze and recommend capitalization strategies, including refinancing and other value-enhancing options.
• Support due diligence and underwriting for acquisitions, dispositions, and repositioning opportunities.
• Manage cash flow distribution planning and execution, ensuring optimization for both limited and general partners.
Other Duties
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned in alignment with the Asset Management function.
Qualifications
Experience
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in multifamily asset management (including affordable housing) and property management operations, with insurance and risk management exposure.
• Knowledge of Yardi and MRI.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree required; Certification in asset management (CHAM) and related fields is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
• Deep knowledge of real estate investment strategies and financial performance metrics.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/financial modelling and presenting complex data and strategic insights to stakeholders.
