Job summary

Walker & Dunlop is seeking an Asset Management Operations Analyst in Needham, MA to support the GSE Asset Management team, handling inspections, data management, and reporting. You will work with borrowers and staff to ensure loan and property information is accurate and compliant.

The role offers exposure to Servicing and Asset Management activities, with opportunities to participate in critical functions like inspections, operating statement analyses, and transaction support.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspections scheduling and communications with staff, vendors, and borrowers.
  • Coordinate and review annual property inspections.
  • Update portfolio database and review O&M narratives.
  • Reach out to borrowers and property representatives for updates on loan and property contacts.
  • Accompany teammates on property inspections as needed.
  • Collect annual and quarterly financial reports from borrowers.
  • Save received documents to Box folders.
  • Interact with borrowers regarding questions and follow-up with non-responsive borrowers.
  • Assist in the creation of routine and ad hoc portfolio reports.
  • Review Borrower requests for Replacement Reserves disbursement for loan compliance.
  • Utilize accounting system to confirm wiring instructions and to enact disbursements from escrow.
  • Complete additional asset management functions as needed.
  • Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Department: Servicing - GSE Asset Management

Department Overview

Our Servicing experts service all Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA Finance loans originated by Walker & Dunlop as well as certain life insurance company, bank, and CMBS loans. Our Servicing experts are the borrower’s primary point of contact and ensure that the requirements of the investors are met from loan closing through payoff. The Department consists of six main functional areas: Loan Administration, Asset Management, Insurance Compliance, Investor Reporting, Treasury, and Compliance.W&D’s Servicing portfolio is the 8th largest in the U.S., and W&D is one of Fitch’s highest-rated Servicers, with a rating of CPS1-.

Impact You Will Have

The Asset Management Operations Analyst is a key member of the GSE Asset Management team. The tasks and activities in this role provide support to the team, and a person in this role will gain broad exposure and a foundational understanding of Servicing and Asset Management group activities within Walker & Dunlop. In addition, this individual will also provide direct support for critical functions of the GSE Asset Management team including, but not limited to, Inspections, Operating Statement Analyses and Transaction Support.

  • Assist with inspection scheduling and related communications with staff, vendors, and borrowers.
  • Coordinate, record and review annual property inspections.
  • Save Inspection-related email communications to Salesforce.
  • Update portfolio database as needed, including reviewing narratives for Operations & Maintenance Plans and property descriptions.
  • Reach out to borrowers and property representatives to update loan and property contacts as needed.
  • Accompany teammates on property inspections as needed.
  • Collect annual and quarterly financial reports from borrowers.
  • Save received documents appropriate Box folders.
  • Interact with borrowers regarding questions and follow-up with non-responsive borrowers.
  • Assist in the creation of routine and ad hoc portfolio reports.
  • Review Borrower requests for Replacement Reserves disbursement for compliance with loan documents.
  • Utilize our accounting system to confirm wiring instructions and to enact disbursements from escrow.
  • Complete additional asset management functions as needed.
  • Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in economics, business, finance, or a related field or equivalent experience strongly preferred.

Previous work experience in a corporate setting, working on special projects requiring analytical, administrative, technical, and interpersonal skills preferred (in Servicing or commercial real estate finance is a plus).

This position has an estimated base salary of $55,000 - $62,500 plus discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
