Job description

Department: WDTech - R&D We are Walker & Dunlop. We are one of the largest providers of capital to the commercial real estate industry, enabling real estate owners and operators to bring their visions of communities — where people live, work, shop, and play — to life. We are committed to creating meaningful social, environmental, and economic change in our communities.

Department Overview

WDTech is W&D’s in-house technology team – a group of collaborative and highly skilled technology professionals, all of whom are leading experts in real estate data, data science, and technology. WDTech Engineering builds solutions that impact not only our products but also the people and processes across our organization. A commitment to innovation and a passion for disrupting the old-fashioned real estate industry are our highest priorities.

The Impact You Will Have

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will help design, support, and enhance the business applications that power critical workflows across the organization. Working closely with business stakeholders, Product Management, Product Design, and engineering teams, you will gather requirements, document business processes, configure systems, and support application enhancements that improve operational efficiency and user experience. In this role, you will contribute to the modernization of internal platforms, including FileMaker applications, Azure SQL integrations, and connected business systems. Your work will help deliver scalable solutions that improve data quality, streamline workflows, and support evolving business needs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the design, configuration, enhancement, and maintenance of scalable, high-quality FileMaker applications across new and existing business solutions.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for new initiatives and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Product Design, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into practical, scalable technical solutions.
  • Support the development, testing, and maintenance of system integrations, including Azure SQL, iManage, and internal and external APIs.
  • Assist with application testing, release validation, troubleshooting, and post-release support to ensure system quality and reliability.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, system documentation, and user support materials.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, data quality, and application performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a related role supporting business applications, systems implementation, or process improvement preferred.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and partnering with stakeholders to support application development or system enhancements.
  • Experience working with relational databases, SQL, Microsoft Excel, or reporting tools.
  • Experience with FileMaker, low-code platforms, or business application configuration is preferred.
  • Experience in real estate, financial services, affordable housing, capital markets, or a related industry is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, data models, SQL, and data validation concepts.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and a commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Interest in leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve documentation, business analysis, testing, and workflow efficiency.
  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
  • Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders.

This position has an estimated base salary of $76,000 - $86,000 plus a discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. #LI-MR1 #LI-Hybrid
