Senior Asset Integrity & NDT Project Engineer
About the job
We are seeking an experienced Asset Integrity and NDT professional to join our Innovation Services team in Houston, Texas.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in inspection and asset integrity within oil & gas facilities, pipelines, terminals, petrochemical assets, power generation, or comparable industrial environments, together with a current NDT Level III certification.
This role is intended for an experienced technical professional who is still comfortable working hands‑on with inspection technologies and technical projects. It is not a purely managerial position, nor is it an entry‑level engineering role.
The successful candidate will combine strong knowledge of inspection, maintenance, and integrity management with the ability to evaluate, qualify, and deploy innovative technologies that improve asset performance, reliability, and safety.
At Quasset, we help asset owners improve safety, reliability, and operational performance through the identification, qualification, and implementation of inspection technologies, robotics, digital workflows, mixed reality, sensors, and data‑driven integrity management solutions.
This is not a traditional project management role or a purely desk‑based engineering position. We are looking for someone who combines asset integrity and NDT expertise with project ownership and practical technology deployment.
In this role, you will work on technical projects focused on improving Asset Integrity Management in the energy and industrial sectors. You will be involved throughout the full project cycle, from understanding client integrity challenges and defining technical requirements to developing project proposals, evaluating and testing technologies, implementation, and successful project delivery.
You will work directly with major international asset owners and operators in the oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
As we grow our Houston office, this role will form an important part of the technical project delivery capability we are building locally, with opportunities to support and mentor other technical colleagues as the team develops.
Your responsibilities
Asset Integrity & Inspection
- Advise clients on asset integrity challenges, inspection strategies, and appropriate NDT approaches.
- Provide technical expertise on NDT methods and their suitability for different inspection challenges and damage mechanisms.
- Evaluate inspection and maintenance requirements for pipelines, pressure equipment, storage tanks, structural assets, and industrial facilities.
- Support the development and implementation of risk-based inspection and integrity management approaches.
- Translate client integrity challenges into practical inspection, technology qualification, and deployment projects.
- Participate in client workshops related to inspection planning, integrity management, technology selection, and maintenance optimization.
- Review inspection results, available integrity data, and asset information to identify opportunities for improved inspection methods or technology implementation.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance on the selection, validation, and application of inspection technologies.
Technical Projects & Technology Deployment
- Take ownership of technical projects from planning through execution and delivery, including scope, timelines, budgets, quality, risks, and project outcomes.
- Act as a senior technical point of contact for clients and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Translate client and operational needs into practical technical solutions, requirements, and project plans.
- Assess the technical and operational feasibility of proposed inspection technologies and solutions.
- Develop and support technology qualification, testing, and validation programs.
- Contribute directly to the testing, integration, troubleshooting, and implementation of technologies in industrial environments.
- Coordinate project activities involving clients, technology providers, inspection service providers, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
- Identify technical, operational, and project risks and take appropriate action to keep projects on track.
- Develop project proposals, scopes of work, technical approaches, reports, presentations, and supporting documentation.
- Coach and support junior engineers and technical colleagues involved in projects.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical project execution, inspection practices, and internal technical knowledge.
Your profile
Required

- A current NDT Level III certification in at least one relevant NDT method, such as UT, PAUT, TOFD, RT, MT, PT, ET, or another applicable inspection method. ASNT or an equivalent recognized certification scheme is acceptable.
- Demonstrated professional experience applying NDT techniques in oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, pipeline, terminal, or other industrial environments.
- Strong practical understanding of damage mechanisms, corrosion, degradation processes, inspection planning, and integrity management.
- Experience selecting or evaluating appropriate inspection methods for specific asset integrity challenges.
- Experience working with owner-operators, inspection service providers, integrity consultancies, or comparable organizations.
- Experience working directly with operating assets and communicating with both engineering/management stakeholders and field personnel.
- Proven experience managing and personally executing technical projects from definition through implementation and delivery.
- Strong project management skills, including responsibility for scope, planning, timelines, budgets, risks, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
- Strong technical and operational problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working directly with clients and able to communicate complex technical topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Willingness to travel, including occasional international travel.
- Business‑proficient and fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Proactive, independent, practical, and solution-oriented.
Preferred
- NDT Level III certification in multiple methods.
- API certifications relevant to inspection or asset integrity, such as API 510, API 570, API 653, or similar.
- Experience developing or reviewing NDT procedures, techniques, or inspection methodologies.
- Experience with technology qualification, field trials, or implementation of new inspection solutions.
