Job summary

IREN is seeking a HPC Asset Coordinator in Childress, TX to manage asset tracking and logistics for our data centers. You will record and audit hardware inventories, oversee on-site spares, and ensure accurate documentation.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams across Operations, IT, Procurement and Finance, with travel as needed. Experience with cycle counts and asset tagging is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in asset management, inventory control, logistics, procurement, warehousing, or related operations.
  • Experience maintaining asset records and performing cycle counts/audits with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with inventory/asset management tools and Microsoft Excel (filters, pivot tables, lookups).
  • Comfortable with hardware inventory (servers, networking equipment) and basic IT terminology.
  • Strong documentation, reporting skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Asset Tracking: maintain accurate hardware inventory within the data center region.
  • Logistics Management: coordinate movement and storage of materials across facilities.
  • Audits: conduct audits, cycle counts, and tagging; update inventory records.
  • Documentation: keep detailed receipts, transfers, and audit records and report to management.
  • Technology Skills: use inventory management software to maintain records.
  • Communication: collaborate with Operations, IT, Procurement and Finance.
  • Problem Solving: resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Travel: willing to travel to support inventories at data center locations.
  • Other duties as assigned

As a HPC Asset Coordinator you will be a critical contributor to the efficient operation of our data centers. You will be responsible for recording and tracking onsite assets and spares inventory, managing site logistics and storage, conducting audits, and ensuring that our equipment is effectively maintained within your region. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Job requirements
  • 1–3 years of experience in asset management, inventory control, logistics, procurement, warehousing, or a related operations role (data center or IT environment preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate asset records and performing cycle counts/audits with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with inventory/asset management tools and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., filtering, pivot tables, lookups) and Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable working with hardware inventory (servers, networking equipment, and related IT components) and learning basic terminology and part identification.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills; able to keep organized records of receipts, transfers, audits, and discrepancies.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Operations, IT, Procurement, Finance).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying root causes of inventory variances and implementing corrective/preventative actions.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, operational environment; capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Job responsibilities
  • Asset Tracking: Maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware and other IT assets within the data center region, including servers, networking equipment, and other hardware and materials.
  • Logistics Management: Coordinate the movement of materials and ensure their safe storage and distribution within the data center and to other facilities.
  • Audits: Conduct ongoing audits of the asset inventory to verify accuracy and completeness and make necessary updates to the inventory records. Participate in cycle counts and asset tagging as needed.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of inventory, receipts, and audits, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Technology Skills: Utilize inventory management software and other tools to maintain accurate records.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with various teams, including Operations, IT, Procurement, and Finance to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records and take proactive measures to prevent inventory-related issues.
  • Travel: Be willing to travel as needed to support inventory management and audits at various data center locations
  • Other duties as assigned
