Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking an Asset Accountant to perform complex asset validations, set ups, transfers, and journal entries in SAP, ensuring compliance with Group policies.

Responsibilities include asset reviews, month-end close support, audit assistance, and training of internal customers, while upholding internal controls.

This role requires a 4-year degree in Accounting or related field and 2+ years of experience; strong Excel skills; SAP experience and GAAP/IFRS knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Accounting or Business w/ Accounting concentration
• 2+ years of related experience
• GAAP and IFRS knowledge is a plus
• Asset accounting experience and SAP familiarity are a plus
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork required

Responsibilities

• Perform complex validations prior to processing asset requests (SAP: setups, transfers, retirements) and interpret accounting requirements.
• Analyze asset purchase requests and determine correct asset setup, classification and useful life.
• Handle inquiries on leases, asset creation, changes, invoices and journal entries.
• Validate requests and prepare/post journal entries; resolve submission discrepancies.
• Provide training on asset requirements to internal customers.
• Ensure accounting conforms to Group policies and maintains internal controls.
• Review client contracts for compliance and balance sheet impact.
• Support month-end close by recording journal entries in SAP and supporting audits.
• Lead asset physical inventories for assigned sectors.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable,Treasury, IT, Audit and Field Accounting.
• Prepare monthly analysis and reconciliations; meet due dates.
• Escalate issues to leadership and support team goals.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as needed
