Job summary

The City and County of Broomfield seeks an Assessment Supervisor to lead administrative and supervisory functions within the Assessor Department. You will work with the Assessor to plan and coordinate processes, ensuring data integrity across property tax systems and reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong problem-solver, deadline-driven, and tech-savvy, with experience in assessment/appraisal and supervisory duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance.
  • 4 years of increasingly responsible administrative experience requiring research/analysis, public relations, office and computer skills.
  • 1 year supervisory or lead experience.
  • 2 years in assessment/appraisal performing administrative duties in the areas of abstract and certification of tax roll (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Assume duties of the Assessor during their absence or unavailability.
  • Assist the Assessor in establishing guidelines for the assessment process.
  • Complete mandatory reports such as notice of valuation, abstract of assessment, certification, tax roll, and balancing tax dollar warrant reports.
  • Monitor abatements, CBOE, and BAA caseload; coordinate hearing dates with the county clerk’s office.
  • Write procedures and guidelines for efficiency and quality control of data and processes.
  • Research and analyze data to maintain integrity of county property tax systems and records.
  • Prepare/oversee budget requests and monitor expenditures/revenues; use financial software for PO and invoices.
  • Prepare articles for media releases regarding property assessment information.
