Job summary

Universal Health Services seeks an Admissions Clinician for night shifts to perform mental health assessments and coordinate admissions. You will work with psychiatrists to decide level of care and manage referrals, documentation, and utilization reviews.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field with mental health intake and admissions experience.
• State license (LISW, LMSW, LPC, etc.) preferred.
• Minimum one year experience in a mental health setting performing assessments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health assessments to determine level of care.
• Communicate with psychiatrists regarding care decisions.
• Facilitate admissions and referrals to/from other agencies and centers.
• Complete pre-certifications and utilization reviews as needed.
• Coordinate patient care with internal and external providers.
• Document in the electronic medical record accurately.
• Participate in patient safety activities and department records.

Full-time, 12 hour nights

Admissions Clinician is responsible for conducting mental health assessments, communicating with psychiatrists in determining level of care needed, facilitating admissions and referrals to and from other agenciesand treatment centers, conducting pre-certifications and utilization reviews, and fostering positive relationships with all referral sources. The Clinician is required to have excellent verbal and written communication skills to assure accurate coordination of care.

• Performing level of care mental health assessments


• Documenting in the electronic medical record


• Coordinating patient care with internal and external providers


• Maintaining department records/statistics


• Complete pre-certifications and utilization reviews as needed

Qualifications
