Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. in Aiken, SC seeks an Assessment Coordinator (MA/MSW) for a full-time night shift at Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services to perform mental health assessments and coordinate admissions and referrals.

The role requires collaboration with psychiatrists, nurses and external providers, excellent verbal and written communication, and accurate documentation to ensure appropriate level of care and smooth patient transitions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling or Behavioral Health (or relatable field).
• State license preferred (LISW, LMSW, LPC, etc.).
• Nurses encouraged to apply.
• Minimum one year experience in mental health settings performing assessments.

Responsibilities

• Addressing needs of telephonic callers seeking assistance.
• Performing level of care mental health assessments.
• Documenting in the electronic medical record.
• Coordinating patient care with internal and external providers.
• Maintaining department records/statistics.
• Complete pre-certifications and utilization reviews as needed.
• Participate in patient safety activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Admissions Clinicianis responsible for conducting mental health assessments, communicating with psychiatrists in determining level of care needed, facilitating admissions and referrals to and from other agenciesand treatment centers,conducting pre-certifications and utilization reviews, and fostering positive relationships with all referral sources.The Clinician is required to have excellent verbal and written communication skills to assure accurate coordination of care.
