Job summary

Ignite Reading in Massachusetts is seeking an Assessment Administrator (Contract) to travel to K-3 classrooms and administer DIBELS/Acadience assessments. You will schedule sessions, collect data in Amplify mCLASS, and ensure confidentiality while following established protocols.

The role is part-time, with an hourly rate of $55, averaging 10–20 hours per week during administration windows and not exceeding 300 total hours.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with students in an educational setting.
  • Must be located in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Albany, NY, Connecticut, or New Hampshire; preference for central/eastern Massachusetts.
  • Flexibility in working with different schools and students within Massachusetts during the academic day.
  • Strong knowledge of the science of reading and foundational skills.
  • Knowledge of the Amplify mCLASS assessment tool.
  • Knowledge and experience administering the DIBELS 8th or previous edition, Acadience, or other aligned assessments.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established assessment protocols.
  • Must pass a federal background check and a Massachusetts-specific background check

Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned schools within Massachusetts to administer DIBELS/Acadience assessments to K-3 students enrolled in Ignite Reading.
  • Schedule assessment sessions with school staff and Ignite Reading's team.
  • Accurately record and maintain assessment data for each student in Amplify mCLASS.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of student information and assessment results.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to students during the assessment process.
  • Follow standardized assessment procedures to maintain the integrity and reliability of the data and report irregularities.
  • Compile and submit assessment data and results to Ignite Reading in a timely and organized manner; generate reports as needed to track student progress.

Assessment Administrator (Contract) Full Description

Today, 67% of students and 82% of low-income students cant read at grade level by the end of third grade. Thats when students are supposed to go from learning to read to reading to learn. Its Americas number one education crisis and we know how to fix it.

Ignite Reading delivers one-to-one virtual tutoring that teaches every student the foundational skills they need to become a confident, fluent reader. We pair students who need extra support with expert reading tutors who provide daily, 15-minute, Science of Reading-based instruction that rapidly closes their decoding gaps. We focus on the foundational reading skillsphonics, phonemic awareness, and sight wordskids need to master so they can decode a sentence. Students in Ignite Readings program achieve over 2 weeks of reading skills growth per week of instruction, and notably all students achieve the same outstanding results including students with IEPs, multilingual learners, students of color and those receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Your Role

As a DIBELS 8th Edition Assessment Administrator contracted by Ignite Reading, your primary responsibility will be to travel to various schools in Massachusetts and administer the DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) assessments to the students enrolled in our program. Your role is crucial in helping us gauge student progress and tailor our instruction to their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment Administration: Travel to assigned schools within Massachusetts to administer DIBELS /Acadience assessments to K-3 students enrolled in Ignite Reading. Follow established assessment protocols to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Collaborate with school staff and Ignite Reading's team to schedule assessment sessions, ensuring minimal disruption to the school's daily routines.
  • Data Collection: Accurately record and maintain assessment data for each student in Amplify mCLASS. Ensure the security and confidentiality of student information and assessment results.
  • Communication: Provide clear and concise instructions to students during the assessment process. Address any questions or concerns raised by students or school staff.
  • Quality Assurance: Follow standardized assessment procedures to maintain the integrity and reliability of the assessment data. Report any irregularities or issues encountered during assessments.
  • Reporting: Compile and submit assessment data and results to Ignite Reading in a timely and organized manner. Generate reports as needed to track student progress.

  • MOY (Middle of Year) -exact dates TBD, but timeframe is Jan-March
