This role supports the Subsea Technologies division’s assembly and testing activities. This role is responsible for assembling and testing complex subsea assemblies to internal, customer, and industry procedures/specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Individuals in the role assemble and test complex mechanical assemblies, often to close tolerances and detailed procedures.
  • Works under minimal supervision and may adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet special needs. Resolves all but most complex problems and questions independently.
  • Works with others in the department for routine matters or to provide assistance. Additional contact may be needed with other departments to furnish or obtain information. Direct interface with Customer Representative and/or customer/third party witnesses.
  • Ability to operate High and Low-Pressure Pumps, Hydrostatic Pumps, High Torque Wrenches, Overhead Cranes, Jib Cranes, Forklifts, and Rigging. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as height gauges, adjustable parallels, calipers, and pressure gauges.
  • Assembles and tests mechanical assemblies according to Hunting/Enpro/Customer specifications. Applies advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment in the area of expertise.
  • Completes required test documentation including test reports, failed test reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR). Assists with FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SITs (System Integration Tests) if needed.
  • Cleans components after assembly/disassembly according to specifications and verbal/written instructions.
  • Inputs and reviews labor data into ERP system (or manually tracked sheets)
  • Uses material handling equipment to move parts, components, and subassemblies from one work or storage area to another as required.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in the work area. Practices good housekeeping in the work area.
  • Ability to comprehend all engineering and weld blueprints and all written engineering procedures. Knowledge of components and circuits and their interfaces at a sub-assembly level. Ability to read and interpret schematics and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Ability to use a personal computer and/or workstation.
  • Construct, assemble, and test subsea tooling/equipment per specified procedures and quality requirements
  • Inspect parts for damage and record traceability on work order
  • Responsible for proper documentation of each step-in procedure performed

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Enterprise Level ERP experience strongly recommended; Epicor or Dynamics 365 experience a plus
  • 5 years in a manufacturing environment with subsea assemblies is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of high pressure hydraulic testing systems/components and general assembly practices and equipment, including the Ability to operate High and Low-Pressure Pumps, Hydrostatic Pumps, High Torque Wrenches, Overhead Cranes, Jib Cranes, Forklifts, and Rigging. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as height gauges, adjustable parallels, calipers, and pressure gauges.
  • Must be able to comprehend all engineering and weld blueprints and all written engineering procedures. Knowledge of components and circuits and their interfaces at a sub-assembly level. Ability to read and interpret schematics and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Must possess technical aptitude, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment/Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • On-site presence is required.
  • This position will require work in manufacturing environments that are both indoors and outdoors in an un-airconditioned shop.
  • Some travel will be required to support offsite product installation and support.
  • Occasional assignments will require evening or weekend schedules.
  • The noise level is usually moderate. Employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Work will involve chemicals used with hydraulic testing, flushing, and assembling, including, but not limited to, testing fluids (transaqua, 443 etc), control fluids, jet lube, nickel-based grease, oils, acetone, cleaners, paints, etc.
  • Position requires working at moderate heights to assemble unites (approx., but not limited to 9’)

Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the United States. All employees must be able to comply with the company Drug and Alcohol Policy, which includes participation in Company random drug testing. Employment is subject to background checks appropriate to the position.
