What is an Assembly Test Technician?

The Assembly Test Technician assembles products and conducts hydrostatic testing to ensure that newly manufactured equipment meet certain specifications in like with API standards.

In this role, you will:
  • Process work orders to assemble products and conduct hydrostatic testing on equipment
  • Document test results using Additel testing software
  • Assemble equipment using tolls such as an impact wrench and impact hammer
  • Follow the work order processes and testing standards
  • Complete general shop maintenance including clean up, driving forklift, and using overhead cranes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required and Preferred Experience:
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Write correspondence and effectively present information in a one on one or small group situation to other employees
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written, and oral instructions
  • Work in a team environment and help others on the team as needed
  • Knowledge of wellhead and valve repair
  • Read blueprints and detailed machine drawings
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • You will work in a manufacturing shop environment with moderate noise levels on occasion exposed to wet, humid conditions
  • Exposure to vibration
  • Requires lifting to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 25 pounds(SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices. If mechanical assistance devices are not available, utilize a team lift.)
  • Must be able to see at close distance (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and be able to distinguish colors as demonstrated in passing the Jaeger Eye test (color contrast)
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent – education can be substituted for prior experience hydrostatic testing or work experience demonstrating mechanical aptitude
