Job summary

Jobtailor in Redmond, WA is seeking an experienced mechanical assembler to perform assembly, tests, and setup per instructions and drawings. You will handle electrical assembly, crimping, and wire termination while following safety and cleanliness standards.

The role requires 3+ years in a mechanical environment, with aerospace background preferred. You will work with teams to analyze root causes and contribute to continuous improvement, including weekend and altered shifts as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a mechanical environment; aerospace preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • General mechanical knowledge and background.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly and final assembly with minimal supervision.
  • Electrical assembly such as wire stripping and connector installation.
  • Work with hazardous chemicals such as Acetone, isopropyl alcohol, paints, sealants, adhesives.
  • Adhere to cleanliness standards and prevent debris.
  • Check and document drawing dimensions using measuring devices.
  • Part mark product using provided equipment/tools.
  • Participate in root cause and corrective action discussions with engineering and quality control.
  • Use computer to read and interpret drawings and specs.
  • Communicate professionally with leadership to resolve issues.
  • Regularly walk, stand, sit, talk and hear as part of duties.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision and depth perception.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Other tasks as assigned; safety oriented; team environment; weekend/modified shifts.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Primarily perform mechanical assembly, functional tests, test setups, and final assembly operations on product line per Assembly and Test Instructions, drawings, and planning with little to no supervision.
  • Electrical assembly, such as wire stripping, crimping, and connector installation.
  • Work with hazardous chemicals such as: Acetone, isopropyl alcohol, paints, sealants, adhesives.
  • Adhere to cleanliness standards, clean as you go, and prevention of Foreign Object Debris.
  • Check and document drawing dimensions using measuring devices.
  • Part mark product using provided equipment/tools.
  • Participate in determining root cause and corrective action through failure analysis in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering and Quality Control.
  • Use computer to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with Leadership and peers to resolve job related issues or concerns.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Other tasks/duties/responsibilities as assigned.
  • Safety oriented.
  • Must work in team environment and participate in team process improvement discussions.
  • Must be able to work weekends and modified shifts with short notice to meet commitments to our customers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, (GED) or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience required in a mechanical environment; aerospace preferred.
