Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking a hands-on team member for our manufacturing/warehouse operations in Richmond, VA. You will follow SOPs, read blueprints, and use PPE properly while executing daily assignments. You will report deviations, participate in safety and quality reviews, and drive improvements across processes.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and either crane or forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Crane and forklift certifications are a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints and manufacturing orders.
• Basic computer skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Use PPE consistently (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves, uniform).
• Receive daily work assignments from Team Leader/Manager and perform production per SOPs and blueprints.
• Report deviations to status boards and inform Team Leader/Manager.
• Participate in daily status board meetings; explain deviations and propose solutions.
• Review and suggest improvements to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Identify and pursue KAIZEN opportunities to reduce waste in area.
• Engage in 5S routines to maintain high standards.
• Look for cross-training opportunities across processes to add value.
• Utilize downtime to learn new processes and run improvements from status boards.
