Job summary

Blueprint-Automation is seeking an Assembly Technician at our South Chesterfield, VA facility to assemble automated machinery and conveyor systems in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2 years in a mechanical/production environment, basic tool ownership, and ability to read blueprints. You will handle mechanical assemblies, troubleshoot issues, and maintain 5S standards while collaborating with engineering and operations teams. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 2 years in a mechanical/production environment required.
  • Must have own basic tools; metric tool sets recommended.
  • Basic ability to read blueprints, technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Experience in industrial automation preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and work instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools to fit, fasten and adjust parts with precision.
  • Assemble mechanical systems including pneumatic systems and conveyor assemblies.
  • Maintain all 5S standards.
  • Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies.
  • Troubleshooting assembly issues and ensuring quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and supervisors to meet production goals.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and report issues promptly.
  • Periodic travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position:

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician at our fully climate controlled South Chesterfield, VA location to facilitate the assembly of automated machinery and conveyor systems in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and work instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools to fit, fasten and adjust parts with precision.
  • Assemble mechanical systems including pneumatic systems and various conveyor assemblies as instructed.
  • Maintain all 5S standards.
  • Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies
  • Troubleshooting assembly issues and ensuring compliance with quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering, supervisors and other team members to meet productions goals.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition and report any issues promptly.
  • Periodic travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/ Experience & Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years of experience in a mechanical or production environment is required. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Must have own basic tools. English and Metric tool sets are recommended. A lockable toolbox is also recommended.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical assemblies is required.
  • Experience in industrial automation preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • A demonstrated ability to follow instructions, make decisions, solve problems, and exercise good judgment and flexibility in an effort to maintain the schedule.
  • High attention to detail and quality is required.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to operate a fork truck
  • Good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • High awareness of client satisfaction level and client needs.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills and be able to interact efficiently with others.
