Job summary

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. in Creedmoor, NC is seeking an Assembly Technician to build electro-mechanical units per engineering drawings and work instructions.

You will run tests, inspect products, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor. The role requires an Electronics associate degree or equivalent training, plus hands-on experience with test equipment, ERP/MRP/MES systems, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent training or 2+ years in electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and docs.
  • Experience using electronic test, inspection, calibration equipment.
  • Hands-on manufacturing and shop floor experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication and assembly.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing or process issues.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel and Word).
  • ERP/MRP/MES systems experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team; support improvements.
  • Pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts into subassemblies and finished units using drawings and work instructions.
  • Perform testing and inspection to ensure quality standards.
  • Operate test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, analyzers, calibration gear).
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and rework units failing tests.
  • Assist engineering with troubleshooting and product modifications.
  • Perform calibration, inline inspection, and final inspection activities.
  • Document production activities and maintain records.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processes; support production improvements.
  • Follow procedures, standards, and ERP/MRP/MES guidelines.
  • Support overtime and alternate shifts when needed.
