Job summary

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Assembly Technicians in Kinston, NC to perform production assembly on electronic and mechanical components.

Candidates should have at least 2 years in aviation production, experience with drilling tools, fasteners, and torquing tools, and be willing to work any shift, including overtime. Proficiency with SAP and Excel is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ minimum experience in aviation production or equivalent.
  • Ability to read diagrams and drawings and use measuring tools.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic and mechanical components per diagrams.
  • Inspect workmanship and document data during assembly.
  • Use hand/power tools, jigs, and fixtures to complete tasks.
  • Move materials and parts to support assembly flow.
  • Assist with quality checks and troubleshooting as needed.

Assembly Technician

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Assembly Technicians with experience performing work on aircraft for an opportunity in Kinston, NC.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
  • Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and sub-assemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Work with blueprints, changes, specifications, work orders, etc. to assemble and install to quality requirements parts and assemblies.
  • Complete required data gathering transactions to facilitate assembly progression.
  • Setup and perform all manual and automated assembly operations, and portable machine functions required to accomplish assignments.
  • Perform any and all required pickup, rework, fabrication, change in corporation, functional testing or check during or after final assembly and/or assembly progression
  • Move and/or obtain correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies,etc.
  • Use precision measuring instruments required to accomplish work assignments.
  • Report and/or investigate job handicaps such as: errors in parts, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc.
  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties (e.g., where applicable, replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels, etc. as related to basic Total Preventative Maintenance duties).
  • Routinely move product within the immediate manufacturing work area, including across isle, using shop assigned equipment as required,and complete transactions necessary to move product to the next operation. On an exception basis, move product to the next operation within a building.
  • Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training, coaching and assisting other employees.
  • Document any discrepancies according to specification, process, and procedure.
  • Trains to become MVP qualified.
  • In addition, each employee may be asked, on occasion, to complete other duties and responsibilities as required by leadership. Training and certification will be provided for the additional work when required.
Skills and Requirements
  • Knowledge of station safety, quality (clean as you go / Foreign Object Debris) and OSHA regulations
  • Must have basic skills of using a variety of tools

  • Ability to articulate complex issues to others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.

Preferred

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Able to enter, generate and retrieve information using a computer (SAP and Excel knowledge required)

  • Previous experience with drilling tools, templates, drilling machines, fasteners, and torquing tools
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift to include working overtime as needed
