Mechanical Assembler / Fabrication Technician – Fort Collins, CO (Full‑Time)
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Mechanical Assembler / Fabrication Technician to join our team in Fort Collins, Colorado. This role involves hands‑on mechanical assembly, custom fabrication, and basic electrical work in a fast‑paced shop environment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hand and power tools, and the ability to follow technical instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
Position Summary
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA regulations
- Perform custom fabrication of industrial control panels, junction boxes, and solar power skids
- Complete metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, drilling, tapping, and forming enclosures and panels
- Handle and mount delicate electronic components
- Perform Level I basic electrical wiring
- Assemble mechanical and pipe assemblies
- Compare materials used against the Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Maintain accurate time, inventory, and quality documentation
- Follow written and verbal production instructions
- Prepare and package completed projects for shipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude, physical dexterity, and attention to detail
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and electrical schematics
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift/push/pull up to 60 lbs
- Ability to distinguish colors for accurate wiring
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or production experience
- Forklift operator certification or the ability to learn (preferred)
