Job summary

Ultipro is seeking an Assembly Tech I to join our Midland, TX team. You will work under a mentor, attaching equipment, aligning components, and wiring basic electricals for various engine assemblies.

Responsibilities include testing, documenting work, and supporting other technicians with welding and painting tasks while seeking ways to improve shop efficiency and safety daily.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; oilfield/industrial assembly experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend basic instructions and memos.
  • Ability to use technology and computers.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Able to read project drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble using mentor supervision; attach equipment and align components.
  • Test assembled components and perform wiring/cabling/sealing as needed.
  • Document repairs, testing, and assemblies after completion.
  • Assist other technicians with welding fit up, electrical work, painting.
  • Install wiring and electrical components with basic knowledge under supervision.
  • Operate assembly tools and forklifts as required.
  • Look for ways to improve shop efficiency.
  • Demonstrate Warren CAT mission in daily activities.

Job description

The Assembly Tech I is responsible for adding value to our industrial and petroleum engine sales by adding customer specific enhancements to the engines’ mechanical systems.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Work the assembly process under mentor supervision. Assembly tasks include but are not limited to; attaching equipment, aligning components such as engine generators and radiators, testing assembled components, and wiring/ cabling / sealing as needed.
  • Our Assembly Techs work on a variety of assemblies including but not limited to; basic hydraulic, pneumatic pipes (both screw pipe and weldments), water pipes (both screw pipe and weldments), stainless-steel tubing, and conduits assembly.
  • Assist with documenting all repairs, testing, and assemblies upon completion.
  • Assist other Technicians with welding fit up, electrical work, painting, and other tasks as needed.
  • Using basic industrial engine wiring knowledge and under mentor supervision, install wiring and electrical components as needed during the assembly process.
  • Operate all assembly tools with mentor supervision.
  • Operate forklifts as required.
  • Strive to find methods to improve shop efficiency and productivity.
  • Demonstrate the Warren CAT mission statement in daily activities.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); some industrial/oilfield assembly experience a plus.
  • Our Assembly Tech I’s must possess mechanical tools and some electrical tools.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to use technology and computers.
  • Ability to apply basic problem-solving skills for daily task completion.
  • Attention to detail and ability to execute tasks in various forms of instruction (written, verbal, diagram).
  • Ability to learn and read project drawings.
