Job summary

FastTrack Staffing is seeking a Truss Assembler in Michigan to join a fast-paced wood-truss production team. You will assemble trusses from pre-cut materials, using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and automated equipment while following design specifications.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, positioning lumber, performing quality checks, and collaborating with the team to handle heavier components. Standing for shifts and wearing safety boots are required.

Qualifications

• Able to read a tape measure and read basic measurements.
• Experience with hand tools is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds individually; team lifts for heavier materials.

Job Responsibilities:

The Truss Assembler is responsible for assembling wood roof and floor trusses using pre-cut materials, plates, and assembly equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Job Duties:

• Assemble wood trusses according to design specifications and production schedules.
• Position and align pre-cut lumber on assembly tables or jigs.
• Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and automated equipment to secure truss plates.
• Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and structural integrity.
• Work collaboratively with team members to move and position larger components (team lifts required for heavier materials).
• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous manufacturing, construction, or assembly experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read a tape measure is required.
• Experience working with Hand Tools
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds individually.
• Heavier materials are handled using team lifts, mechanical assists, or conveyors.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift
• Repetitive hand and arm movements required.
• Work Boots or Steel Toes
