Job summary

QXO is a leading distributor and installer of building products in Florida. We seek an Assembly Lead to coordinate daily production, read blueprints, and ensure quality. You will guide a team at the workstation, maintain safety, and drive continuous improvement to meet output goals.

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret technical drawings or assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to follow instructions and standardized processes.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environments.
  • Prior experience leading or training team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the assembly of materials and components based on work orders, drawings, and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Measure, position, and secure materials using hand tools and equipment.
  • Ensure components are aligned, fastened, and completed to quality standards.
  • Mark, label, and verify finished products for accuracy and tracking.
  • Lead and support team members at the workstation to meet daily production goals.
  • Provide guidance, training, and coaching to improve team performance.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and accountability on the production floor.
  • Inspect work throughout the assembly process to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Identify and correct errors or inconsistencies in materials or assembly.
  • Maintain attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and PPE.
  • Identify and report safety concerns or hazards.
  • Coordinate workflow at the assembly table to maximize efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in production processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

  • Comfortability with performing work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and equipment
  • Comfortability with potentially working in varying temperatures and conditions
  • Comfortability with exposure to machinery and production equipment
  • Ability to work extended hours based on production needs
