Job Summary
The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production operations and ensuring the team meets production, quality, safety, and delivery objectives. This position provides hands‑on leadership to assembly employees, monitors department performance, addresses production issues, and supports a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daily assembly operations.
- Ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
- Lead, coach, train, and develop assembly employees while promoting teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
- Assign work and manage staffing to ensure production priorities and department needs are met.
- Conduct employee coaching and performance discussions and document performance or attendance issues as required.
- Ensure employees follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, quality requirements, and company policies.
- Communicate with other departments to maintain production flow.
- Identify and address production, quality, staffing, material, and equipment issues quickly to minimize disruption to production.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete daily production reports and communicate department performance.
QualificationsSkills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing, assembly, or production leadership experience required.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish expectations, hold employees accountable, and address performance issues professionally.
- Strong problem-solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Basic computer skills required; experience with manufacturing, ERP, or production management systems preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing production priorities.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
