Qualifications

Assembly Supervisor – Aerospace Tooling

Do you have significant experience in mid‑to‑large size tooling and want to build your own team (plans to double the team size in 6 months)! You’ll be part of the world’s largest tooling group supporting the most advanced aircraft and space programs on the planet.

As an Assembly Supervisor, you’ll lead a 2nd‑shift team responsible for the assembly of large‑scale composite lay‑up moulds, jigs, and fixtures, some stretching over 120 feet and held to tight tolerances. You’ll coordinate workloads, ensure quality, and provide hands‑on guidance to ensure every tool meets the precision standards demanded by top aerospace manufacturers. You’ll work with thermocouples, electrical and plumbing systems, stainless tubing, and laser tracking / CMM equipment, making sure every project leaves the floor flawless.

  • Lead, train, and mentor a growing team of mechanical assemblers (currently 6–7, scaling to 15)

  • Interpret blueprints and GD&T to guide complex assembly operations
  • \
  • Oversee the build and alignment of lay‑up moulds, jigs, and composite tooling
  • \
  • Perform hands‑on work as needed—machining, shimming, fit‑up, and inspection
  • \
  • Manage metrology—laser tracking and metrology systems for precision alignment
  • \
  • Maintain productivity, safety, and quality standards across the shift
  • \
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to deliver on time and on spec

Qualifications

  • Proven experience supervising mechanical or tooling assembly in aerospace or precision manufacturing (mid‑to‑large tooling)
  • \
  • Hands‑on experience with machining, assembly, and preferably metrology
  • \
  • Proficiency with GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and tight‑tolerance work
  • \
  • Leadership style that’s firm but fair, with the ability to teach and motivate others
  • \
  • Flexibility to work 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM (extended or 5 PM – 5 AM during busy periods), lots of overtime available
  • \
  • U.S. Person and eligibility for security clearance would be a plus
