Job summary

Marelli is seeking a capable supervisor to manage a production area in our Tennessee facility. You will ensure safety, quality, and productivity, while leading a team to meet the production schedule and company standards.

Responsibilities include training staff, solving problems, monitoring KPIs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Prior experience in manufacturing and knowledge of lean tools are preferred.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred.
  • 3 years minimum as supervisor.
  • Knowledge of quality and environmental systems.
  • Experience with emergency programs.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and its tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership, communication and human relations skills.
  • Familiarity with internal work regulations.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Basic process tools: PFMA’s and PCP’s.
  • Willingness to work overtime on short notice.
  • Experience with injection molding/assembly is a plus.

  • Assist in analyzing product rejections and drive improvements.
  • Manage area KPIs and lead PDCA improvement teams.
  • Ensure completion of the production schedule.
  • Support problem-solving activities and cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor quality and environmental standards compliance.
  • Enforce area procedures and process instructions.
  • Maintain process reliability and react to customer feedback.
  • Implement continuous improvement programs in the area.
  • Manage scrap and inventory controls.

Job description

Description: Responsible for managing a group of lines or areas inside the operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise activities of the area in a manner that meets the company's goals for Safety, Quality, Environment and Productivity.
  • Supervise compliance of the production schedule as well as compliance with the general requirements of the organization
  • Supervise employees
  • Participate in the analysis of product rejections
  • Manage area KPI and lead improvement team through PDCA
  • Assure completion of the production schedule
  • Provide support and training to the employees.
  • Participate in problem solving teams
  • Ensure the quality of the product, by monitoring the compliance of the quality requirements and criteria
  • Supervise compliance with the area’s procedures and instructions
  • Monitor the reliability of the processes
  • Participate in the responses to customer complaints
  • Supervise and provide corrective actions for the production performance indicators
  • Implement continuous improvement programs in the production area
  • Keep the scrap and finished product system updated
  • Implement inventory and scrap reduction projects
  • Comply with the quality and environmental standards procedures and instructions (those applicable)
  • All those activities generated as a result of changes, requirements and/or improvement in the process of the applicable area)

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • College Degreed preferred
  • 3 years minimum as supervisor
  • Quality and environmental systems
  • Emergency programs
  • Basic knowledge about Lean Manufacturing and its tools
  • Problem solving techniques
  • Leadership skills, communication, human relations.
  • Internal work regulations
  • Knowledge of computer packages (MS OFFICE)
  • Basic process tools: PFMA’s and PCP’s
  • Availability to work overtime on short notice
  • Experience with injection molding/ assembly process a plus
