Job summary

SPX Technologies is opening a new campus facility combining Marley and Ingenia Technologies at one site. As an Assembly Supervisor, you will oversee manufacturing operations, drive safety, and ensure production targets and quality standards are met in a fast-paced environment.

You will hire, train, and motivate employees to deliver finished goods, demonstrating strong leadership and a commitment to operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience building and developing high performing, diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including assembly, welding, machining, and quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the manufacturing team to ensure productivity, safety, and engagement.
  • Assist in recruitment and onboarding of employees.
  • Coach performance discussions and deliver corrective actions as needed.
  • Plan and organize department workflow, schedules, and objectives.
  • Serve as point of contact for employee concerns in collaboration with HR.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

As an Assembly Supervisor on this campus, you will play a crucial role overseing manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met. Key to this role will be to learn in a fast past environment.

As the Assembly Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in hiring, training and motivating employees to deliver finished goods. The successful Assembly Supervisor will have strong leadership abilities and a passion for operational excellence.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

Supervisory Leadership:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to manufacturing team, ensuring productivity, collaboration, andapositive working environment
  • Foster open communication and promote a culture oftrust andengagement, embodying the SPX core values
  • Partner intherecruitmentof employees by promoting open job opportunities and activelyparticipatingin thehiring,selection, and on-boardingprocesses
  • Actively support employee training and developmentbyidentifyingtraining needs, developing training plans, providing coaching and guidance to enhance employee skills and knowledge, as well as performingemployee evaluations and corrective actions as necessary
  • Coach and lead performancediscussions withemployees.Deliver corrective actions as appropriate
  • Organize theworkflow of department by settingobjectives, preparing schedules, and communicatingobjectivesand progressto team
  • Serve as point of contact for employee concernsandgrievances,actively listening and, in partnership with HR,addressissuesin a timely mannerusing a proactive approach to conflict resolution
Safety:
  • Promote andmaintaina safe working environment by enforcing safety guidelines, conducting regular inspections, and addressing potential issuesimmediately
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in working order and can be used in a safe manner
  • Assistin investigations of safety concerns
  • Oversee the cleanliness and organization of manufacturing area
  • Serve as champion of safety, encouraging employees toidentifyrisks work together to resolve issues
Production Execution:
  • Collaborate with production planning andlogisticsto prioritize production schedules,monitorprogress, and ensure on-time delivery of orders that meet customer expectations
  • Implement andmonitorquality control procedures and standards to ensure production ofhigh qualityproducts
  • Conduct inspections and partner with quality team to address issues promptly
  • Optimizeinventory management process to support production requirementsand ensureaccuracy of inventory records
  • Understand production schedules and estimateaccuratehour requirements for completion
  • Ensure direct and indirectlaborgoals are meton a daily basis
  • Manage scrap within assigned area to achieve program fiscal goals
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed
Continuous Improvement and Documentation:
  • Use ERP system and other technology to prepare reports for planning, performance monitoring, issue identification, and improvement
  • Maintainaccuraterecordsincluding:production reports, inventory data, safety logs, employee performance records,timeand attendance records
  • Create reports on key performance indicators
  • Identifyopportunities for process improvement throughout the facility to enhance efficiency, equipment performance, quality, reduce cost, andoptimizeoperations
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles
  • Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

Required Experience
  • Atleast 2years ofsupervisory/leadershipexperiencein a manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience attracting,retaining, motivating, anddeveloping high performing, diverse teams
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly, welding/machining, quality control
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles
  • Proficiencyusing manufacturing software and systems for inventory management and production planning, including working in ERP related system
  • Knowledge of HVAC industry
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships with leaders
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to motivate others, supervise, and train hourly manufacturing employees in a production environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Skills inMicrosoft Office software
Education & Certifications
  • Associate’sdegreeor equivalent combination of education,trainingand experience
  • Manufacturing environment with potential exposure to weather conditions, and/or noise
