Job description

  • Ensures safe work environment and practices.
  • Abides by 5S and Lean Manufacturing in the Assembly department.
  • Monitors team’s product quality and directs adjustments as necessary.
  • Support training and development of assembly personnel.
  • Support developing work instructions and storyboards for assemblies.
  • Support making sure Standard production rates are accurate.
  • Completes periodic inspections of quality for team members’ work.
  • Ensures team stays on task and communicates with manager when a team member finish job for next assignment and or assign looking at backlog of department and needs.
  • Ensures rejected materials are labeled and processed correctly.
  • Make sure all 5S tools are in place and accounted for.
  • Reads the Job Traveler and understands requirements.
  • Verifies assembled prints match prints.
  • Logs into all jobs you are assigned to.
  • Uses the right part labels.
  • Packages parts properly.
  • Assembles at or above established standard.
  • Labels gaylords properly.
  • Ensures all consumable production supplies are replenished to acceptable visual standard.
  • Counts parts accurately.
  • Ensures all paperwork is complete, accurate, and turned in at the end of the shift.
  • Ensures information is entered into ERP system accurately.
  • Ensures area is clean and organized.
  • Drives continual improvement.
  • Identifies and understands correct hand tool use.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Education / Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to gather information and share either verbally or in writing.
  • Able to communicate effectively with other employees, office personnel and management.
Mathematical & Reasoning Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Able to practical problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and communicate to supervisor if unable to solve.
  • Able to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • The employee is frequently required to sit or stand while using limbs and requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
