Job summary

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. invites applications for an Internship in Assembly 2 Trim & Final Manufacturing Operations. You will support production processes at MBUSI in Alabama, gaining hands-on experience in lean methods and shopfloor activities.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in university, have at least 3 semesters in a related field, and can commit for 6 months starting March 2027. The program offers paid hourly wages and a housing bonus to assist relocation.

Qualifications

• Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Basic knowledge of industrial or mechanical engineering principles
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods

Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes and manufacturing performance
• Investigate and support resolution of production-related challenges
• Assist with process optimization and continuous improvement projects
• Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
• Support workstation and ergonomic improvements
• Evaluate KPIs and production performance metrics
• Apply lean manufacturing principles in daily operations
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, and Planning teams
• Participate in cross-functional engineering projects
• Gain exposure to shopfloor management and automotive assembly systems
• Participate in daily production and shopfloor meetings
• Support KPI tracking and performance analysis
• Conduct process observations and problem-solving activities
• Assist with continuous improvement and process optimization projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues
• Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation
• Support implementation and follow-up of corrective actions
