Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is offering a paid internship in Alabama for students currently enrolled in a related engineering or manufacturing program.

The role focuses on analyzing production processes, supporting resolution of manufacturing challenges, and driving continuous improvement projects on the production floor. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a relevant degree, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and have familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and data

Qualifications

• Education required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related area.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts.
• Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes and manufacturing performance.
• Investigate and support resolution of production-related challenges.
• Assist with process optimization and continuous improvement projects.
• Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
• Support workstation and ergonomic improvements.
• Evaluate KPIs and production performance metrics.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles in daily operations.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, and Planning teams.
• Participate in cross-functional engineering projects.
• Gain exposure to shopfloor management and automotive assembly systems.
