Job summary

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. invites applications for an Internship in Assembly 2 Trim & Final Manufacturing Operations. You will support production processes at MBUSI in Alabama, gaining hands-on experience in lean methods and shopfloor activities.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in university, have at least 3 semesters in a related field, and can commit for 6 months starting March 2027. The program offers paid hourly wages and a housing bonus to assist relocation.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Analyze production processes and manufacturing performance

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education

Bachelor’s degree inMechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Skills

Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Basic knowledge of industrial or mechanical engineering principles

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts

Knowledge of root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods

Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools

Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement projects

Experience in student engineering projects, Formula SAE, robotics, or manufacturing-related activities

Basic understanding of automotive systems and vehicle assembly processe

Requirements

Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degree

  • Studies outside of the U.S.A (we are not accepting applications from students who are currently studying in the U.S.A)
  • A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
  • Available for a minimum of 6 months
