Job summary

Summit Polymers in Michigan is seeking a Supervisor, Manufacturing (Assembly) to oversee finishing and assembly operations, ensure safety, quality and productivity, and enforce company policies across the shift.

You will train and evaluate hourly staff, direct process checks, coordinate workflows with other shifts, and participate in continuous improvement using root cause problem solving to prevent defects.

Qualifications

• One year of related leadership experience.
• Ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions.
• Train others for routine positions.
• Wonderlic Select Assessment: 50+ (technical 20 cognitive).

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs finishing and assembly activities.
• Trains new and promoted employees and monitors performance.
• Ensures proper training of hourly employees in decoration and safety.
• Investigates and enforces disciplinary actions as needed.
• Audits and records quality and productivity of subordinates.
• Ensures compliance with departmental and corporate policies and procedures.
• Plans, coordinates, and regulates work flow throughout department.
• Coordinates and reviews problems with supervisors on other shifts.
• Prepares reports, memos, schedules, and other documentation.
