Job summary

Bil-Jax Haulotte is seeking a Production Operator for assembly and paint line support. The role involves building components, sub-assemblies, and assisting with paint line operations to ensure safety, quality, and durability of aerial platforms.

The position offers a 36-hour work week on a day shift (Monday–Friday) with benefits starting on day one. Training and growth opportunities exist within Haulotte’s manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year or more of manufacturing, assembly, or industrial painting experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and perform multiple functions within the work cell, including paint line operations.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld scanners.
• Strong work ethic, attendance, and reliability.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Handle, position, and install components and sub-assemblies using appropriate tools and equipment, including cranes, slings, hand tools, and power tools.
• Assemble products according to established work instructions and production processes.
• Perform visual inspections to verify compliance with quality and design requirements.
• Verify proper alignment, fit, function, and retention of assembled components and correct minor deviations as needed.
• Maintain production tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and production documentation.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team leaders, and coworkers.
• Assist with training new employees as needed.
• Identify and help resolve production-related issues.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking parts.
• Operate manual and automated spray equipment to apply primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes.
• Inspect painted components for quality, coverage, and color consistency; perform touch-ups when necessary.
• Set up, operate, and maintain paint equipment, including spray guns and paint booths.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures regarding chemicals, personal protective equipment, and ventilation requirements.
• Maintain accurate paint usage and production records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
